Our Approach
to Every Appeal

Appeals reward thoughtful, methodical preparation. Each case begins with a thorough review of the trial record, careful identification of the strongest issues, and briefing built around the standard of review the court will actually apply. The work is painstaking and meticulous because the every case demands it.

Strong appeals are built on close reading, clear thinking, and careful writing.

A PRACTICE FOCUSED ON

INDIANA APPEALS

Meet
Anne Lowe

headshot_2.jpg

Anne Medlin Lowe is a partner at Fugate Gangstad Lowe, where she leads the firm's appellate and business litigation practices. Before private practice, she clerked more than two years for the Honorable Paul D. Mathias of the Indiana Court of Appeals, an experience that shapes how she frames issues and presents a record on appeal. Her peers have named her a Super Lawyers Rising Star for eight straight years (2017-2025) and a Best Lawyers Ones to Watch honoree, and she is a Distinguished Fellow of the Indiana Bar Foundation. As co-counsel, Anne has helped win recent reversals in the Court of Appeals across protective order, probate, and family law matters, and earlier in her career her team secured a rare reversal from both that court and the Indiana Supreme Court in Bellwether Props., LLC v. Duke Energy Ind., Inc., 87 N.E.3d 462 (Ind. 2017).

She advocates for small business owners and individuals with a focus on strategic efficiency and careful stewardship of their resources.
